Addison's Soccer Debut

Not really sure this is her thing.

Contemplating her first goal (or just wondering when this will be over).

Okay, so she did have some fun!!!

Addison Updates

*is incredibly responsible, helpful and fun

*is an awesome swimmer and LOVES it

*LOVES her little brother even though he drives her crazy on a daily basis

*LOST her first tooth (it came out while she was sleeping and she woke to find it in her hand in the morning)

*loves the color pink, purple, red and orange...can't decide if blue is in the running

*dislikes bugs, getting dirty

*has a great sense of humor

*is an amazing reader and writer

*is happiest when she gets to be the boss

*is so imaginative

*loves to cook/bake with me especially if it involves chocolate

*loves reading, gym and Library in school

*favorites include tortillas, pasta, pancakes, PBJ, yogurt and ANYTHING sweet

Connor Updates

Connor-isms

I try to make my budda not big but it just is. (3.5yrs)
Addi was crying b/c she didn't want to wear her temporary glasses till her new ones came in. She was afraid they'd get broken and Adam said, "If they get broken I'll take care of it. "Do you remember what my job is?" Addi is still crying but Connor chimes in, "Your job is to sell sunglasses!" (Adam was kind of hoping for "solve problems")
"Mom, today at soccer I'm going to wrestle someone!" (and he did, even had to be picked up off the other little boy who happened to be on his team)
(while leaving Addison's school) Connor: "Mama, what kind of truck is that?" Me: "A delivery truck." Connor: "Does it have juice, cheese and beer?" Me: "Um, I hope not!"
'Mama, if it snows yesterday, can we go out and laugh in it?" (Translation: Mama, if it snows tomorrow, can we go out and play in it?....love 2 yr old speech
"Mr. Addi, come here!" (not sure where the Mr. thing came from but Addi doesn't love it) 32 mos
Thanksgiving Dinner: "Connor, what do you want to be when you grow up?" Connor replies, "A Truck Doctor!" (see Addison's reply) 32 mos
"Mommy, can we see the baby cantaloupe?" (meaning camel, while at the zoo) *32 mos
"My budda is hungry." (Yes, that's his tummy.)
"Oh Mama, you are so pretty!" (can't think of anything sweeter coming from your 2 yr old)
"Mama dunk the ball!" (after I find a basketball) "I can't Connor, I'm too short but Daddy can." (from now on he tells me on a daily basis that I'm too short when I can't do something, "Maybe Dada do it?")
"Mama, oh my goodness your shoes are so pretty. Your shirt is pretty too! Mama is a princess!"
"Oh My Goodness!!!!" (when something is exciting) 25 months
Connor: "Mama, where are we going?" Marissa: "To Target, I have to stop there real quick." Connor: "No, mama! No Target!!" (apparently I go too much)
"Mama, let's go play!" (love that)
"I want breakfast." (or whatever the next meal is whenever I am in the kitchen)
Conversation with Adam after playgroup: Adam: "Connor, what did you do at playgroup?" Connor: "Kiss girls." Adam: "Who did you kiss?" Connor: "All of them." (22 mos)
"Mama, stop. Phone away, stop!" (whenever I am on the phone)
"Dada, look penis, look another, look more." (while in the locker room with Adam, he had the old men in there rolling)
"Dada, balloon take, too heavy." To which Adam says, "Oh Connor, air it is so heavy, let me get that!"
"Mama butt." (he then proceeds to pull up my shirt and point to my belly button)
"Addi sad." (whenever Addison cries)
"See basketball big ship!" (watching the MSU/NC game on the battleship on 11/11/11)
"Hold you!" (he says this when he wants to be held...we often say to him, "Do you want me to hold you?"

Addi-isms

Thanksgiving Dinner: "Addi, what do you want to be when you grow up?" Addison replies, "A Veterinarian!" 5 yrs old
Conversation at dinner last night with Addison: Addison: Guess what? On the last day of school we get to have a beach party and wear our bathing suits. Me: That sounds like fun. Which bathing suit do you think you'll wear? Addison: Hmm, not sure! Me: Maybe your red one? Addison: Well, I asked the boys which one they thought I should wear...my two piece or full one and they said I should wear my bikini. So I think I'll wear that one. (Adam and I are laughing hysterically at this point and I think Adam's face was red at the thought of this conversation going on) Me: What are the other girls wearing? Addison: Oh, they are going to wear their full bathing suits. Me: I think you will wear your full one too...
Connor: "Not eating dinner!" Addison: "Connor, let's do less talking about not eating and more eating."
Marissa: "Addi, what do you think of Connor's haircut?" Addi: (a pause) "Well, he looks like Dada and sounds like Connor."
Listening to Addison play with her Barbies.... Addi: "Dear, you have to go and have your eyes checked at the doctors. I know you don't want to dear, but you have been eating too much yogurt so that's why you are having trouble seeing."
(I hear lot's of arguing from A and C while I get dressed and then Connor starts crying) Marissa: "Addi, what happened?" Addison:"Connor was ripping a book." Marissa:"So, what did you do?" Addison:"I bit him" Marissa:"You bit him?!" Addison: "Well, at least I don't bite his finger off."
(After making a return to Costco) "Mama, Costco gave us some money and then we gave them some money so we didn't even have to go to the "dollar store" (aka... the bank)"
"Connor, you make me laugh and I love you so much."
I was on the phone with a friend who is a police officer and Addi asked me who I was talking to. I told her and then said, "Isn't that cool that he has a job where he gets to help people? And guess what, Papa used to be a police officer." Addison then says, "And now he just sits behind a desk."
Every morning Addison wakes up and says, "Look at me, I got bigger!" (Just wait till Connor is bigger than her, such a let down for her.)
After a bath I put my hair clip in so Addi's wet hair isn't on her neck. Addison says, "I feel like a mommy!"
Addi: "Mama, when I get even bigger can I shave like Daddy?" Marissa: "What do you want to shave?" Addi: "My face!" Marissa: "When you get bigger you can shave but girls don't shave their face." (Not a conversation I expected to have...)
"Dada, you're silly. Have a silly band."
We just realized what Addi thinks Adam does for a living....play b-ball. He's always telling her he has to go to court and then she has seen b-ball pics. Put 2 and 2 together and now Adam has a really cool job according to Addison.
"Mama, doesn't Connor look like a Seven Dwarf w/ his bib?" (Not sure how to respond to that.)
Adam hits his head on a low doorway in our basement while carrying beer down to the fridge. Addi and I go and check to make sure he is still breathing. I tell Addi she should ask Adam is he's okay and she responds, "I need to check and make sure the beer didn't break first!" (Nice huh!)
Marissa: "See that guy watching the World Cup soccer game? That's Bill Clinton, he used to be the Pres. of the U.S.." Addi: "Is Uncle David the President now?"
"Dada, have a great day at work. Tell everyone I said Hi."
ADDISON: Mama, is that where the Dr. took Connor out? MARISSA: Yes. ADDISON: Maybe the Dr. can take another Connor out. MARISSA: Would you like another Connor? ADDISON: Yes, but one that doesn't cry! (as we pass the hospital)
"Mama, Connor likes you!" (he stops crying and falls asleep in the sling)
"Mama, I have a little butt and you have a big butt?"
"That was not helpful, at all, either."
"I'm not all set. I'm still eating!" (Addi says this to the server at a restaurant as he goes to take our plates)
"I want to see the giraffes, zebras and Erdferkels (baby Aardvark) at the Detroit Zoo."
"Uh-oh, we can't swim. We don't have our PFDs." (as Addi and I are playing w/ her toy house and pretending the dolls are going for a swim)
"Maybe Dada fix it." (whenever anything in the house doesn't work and I can't fix it)
"Mama, you walking like a turtle?" (as we walked into the house and Addi held the umbrella for both of us...picture me hunched over)
"I'm so happy I saw my friends today." (after we got home from a play group)
"Here I am everybody!" (as Addi gets up from her nap and we go outside to find her grandparents during a trip to Columbus)
"No Mama, that's my Dada." (whenever Adam and I try to hold hands)
"That man likes french fries." (as an overweight man walks by our table, fortunately she said it quiet enough that he didn't hear)
"Dada (or Mama) member _________." (at random times she'll say that when she remembers something)
"Question..." (whenever she has a question, I think Marissa says that)
"Mama, sing your favorite song." (I'm still not sure what my favorite song is :))
"No like!"
"I love Tyrone!" (a random character on a bubble wand)
"Watch this!" (usually when she's swinging from something)
"No-no!"
"Pah, Bubba, Blankie, Night-Night" (whenever it's time for bed)
"Apacoda" (avacado)
"Criss cross, applesauce....now you've got the sugars."
"Dada, something mouth." (she proceeds to run into the kitchen for a towel to get the broccoli out of Adam's tooth)
"Dada, almost juice." (trying to say, "Almost gone.")
